Burleigh Brewing are soon to launch ‘My Wife’s Bitter’, a traditional English-style ale… and just in time for Father’s Day.
The crack team of craft brewers at Burleigh Brewing Co. on the Gold Coast have developed ‘My Wife’s Bitter’ (4.8% ABV, 650ml bottle), a new limited edition ale that will be released in the last week of August – just in time for Dad’s favourite day.
Surprisingly, the name is not just for classic comedic value (what does Dad love more than a good pun?). In fact, the beer itself is Burleigh head-brewer Brennan Fielding’s tribute to his wife (and company CEO!), Peta Fielding.
As for the beer itself… My Wife’s Bitter is brewed in the style of a classic English ale using authentic hops (Fuggles and East Kent Goldings) as well as a unique blend of English malts and an authentic English yeast.
It has a roasted maltiness, a soft caramel flavour, a dense aromatic foam and just the right whack of bitterness – sounds like something to keep Dad busy enough to make him forget to ask you to do yard work for him.
