They may have won the Ashes but we make better beer

Australia’s Red Oak Brewery has won ‘World’s Best Bitter’ & ‘World’s Best India Pale Ale’ – both traditional English style beers

Red Oak Brewery has collected two trophies at the ‘World Beer Awards’, taking out top honours for their Red Oak Bitter and Red Oak India Pale Ale.

David Hollyoak (Red Oak’s Master Brewer) boasts that “It is an outstanding result for our beers to win up against some of the most respected US & European breweries and to win the categories that are regarded as the most traditional of traditional English beer styles. We are very proud to have received these awards.”

Red Oak snatched the award from the Poms in their own ‘Bitter’ beer style, beating other well known UK beers such as Fuller’s Chiswick Bitter… Revenge is sweet.

ABOUT THE BEER

Red Oak Bitter (3.5%ABV) is an interpretation of the traditional English style bitter with Redoak’s own character added. It has a rich amber colour, a good balance of hops and caramel aroma with a pleasant ‘crystal malt’ flavour and finishes with a refreshing bitterness. The excellent mouthfeel and body of this beer is quite surprising.

Red Oak IPA (6.5%ABV) is brewed to the tradition of Burtonon Trent in England. With 10 times the amount of hops as other beers, the English Kent Goldings and Fuggles flowers have resulted in a fresh fruit aroma, lovely mouth coating and a huge back bitterness. The caramel malt flavour and big back bitterness linger on the palate.
